This lectures series focuses on the history, evolution and formulation of equivalent lateral force (ELF) procedure for seismic analysis and design of building structures.
The part 1 focuses on the history and evolution of ELF procedure in last several decades.
The part 2 focuses on the formulation of ELF procedure as prescribed in UBC – 97.
The part 3 focuses on the formulation of ELF procedure as prescribed in IBC – 2000.
The part 4 focuses on the formulation of ELF procedure as prescribed in Building Code of Pakistan (BCP 2007) – This part is in Urdu language.
The part 5 focuses on a practical demonstration of how the ELF procedure can be applied in ETABS and how the global responses of a building can be computed manually and compared with ETABS results.
